General Information

Born in Varese, Giovanna Soletta began studying modern dance at age six at the Dance School of Camilla Lombardo. After high school,she moved to Milan, in order to undertake her university studies in law (B.A. and Master's).  While there she pursued her passion for dance, taking classes in contemporary and modern dance and learning several different techniques. During this time, she took part in workshops and seminars in various cities, including Vienna, New York and Paris.

 

From 1997 to 2003 she lived and worked in Milan where she collaborated with Studio Festi as an acrobat ballerina, performing in major international cities such as Milan, Rome, Madrid, Valencia, Tokyo, Reykjavik, Moscow and Bogotá. Starting in 2002, in partnership with others companies, she began developing aerial choreography for various public events leading up to  the realization of an aerial performance of dance with helium balloons.

 

It is in 2004 that she began designing her own aerial and acrobatic dance performances, curating their artistic direction, coordinating their production and supervising their technical and scenographyc aspects. Since then, she has continued her own artistic research, designing and inventing diverse aerial choreographic pieces and participating in numerous public and private events, alone and in collaboration with different companies and creative agencies.
